# 24 Dare to be Different

#24 of the challenge. I did a rough sketch of a few pears and decided to do wild colors. So it was a good exercise in using glazes. It's hard to see the layers, but the glazes are great for creating some harmony (a little of each pear's color applied to the other pears). Also to tone down bright colors (although not much here!), and to give depth and luminosity. It was very fun!

  1. Laurie, once again I am loving your deft shadow creation. The harmony generated by color transposition—yummy. And the texture of the table—mesmerizing. I want to pop into your studio to watch your hand and brushes and magic at work. Do you have any youtube clips?

I am SO sorry to hear that your blog transmission continues to be b(l)ogged down. SUCH a frustration and energy/time drain.

  2. Thanks, Dotty on the nice compliments! I think the most frustrating thing is that there is no one to TALK to. No contact info, etc. I'm spending too much time reading about it!

  3. No, I don't have anything on you tube. But after the challenge is over, I want to at least show a progression painting.

  4. All these colors are so gorgeous together, especially the shadows.

  5. I love the green pear, but it would not be as wonderful I suppose if it were not seen beside those brilliant, brights! I love your shadows too, and the way the two pears seem to be in a conversation. :) Hey... Dud, Just realized, I got you blog in my inbox today. So I have been getting it all along... best of luck to you Laurie. Oh, really excited to hear they may be a video soon :)

  6. A red pear - how wild! I think the color combinations are great and love the way you have included each into each pear - super piece!

  7. Lovely colours! My blog didn't come in through email the other day and it had done that before.... I checked into Feedburner which is what makes it go to people's email and I needed to "ping" it..... So I did and it has worked... Try that if you are doing it on blogger through Feedburner? Let me know if it works!
