The Little Red Boat

I'm waking up again! Life has "gotten in the way" since the challenge. Actually, I've been catching up on other things. I'm in the process of preparing boards, canvasses, etc. for a few big pieces. But at the same time I love the 8x10s, 11x14s, etc, even 6x8. I have 2 easels set up in my studio: 2 separate painting "stations", so that I can go back and forth. It's usually defined by oils vs. acrylic/water media. But anything goes! Back to work. I'll create my own challenge!

  2. What a great idea - I need to do that, since my really big one is taking time. I love little ones - square is my favorite these days. Harder to get frames for if you use canvasboards - but little ones can sit on easels. I love this painting - your use of color is so amazing! Glad you got your heebie jeebies gone!

  3. Sunny Days ahead! Love the clear blue water, bright blue sky, and the little red boat. The lush greens make me happy, and the close-knit cabins feel welcoming :)

  4. So much personality in those waterside cottages. I just want to walk up the front steps of any one of them, call through the screen door, and walk my barefoot self inside to hang out in the kitchen with whomever I find there. You bring such live to your paintings with your captivating use of line, color, light, and shadow.

  6. I think that is a wonderful idea! We should do our own challenge! I am already somewhat doing that as I committed last September to doing 5 days of art a week, whether that is drawing, painting, doodling.... But I was just thinking that maybe I can put a number to each month.... Maybe we can do something together?

    1. We can think these next few days what we would like to do? Maybe not as intensive as the 30 day challenge, maybe the 15 day? 20 days? It probably all depends on what our goals are for the next little while as those would determine so many things.... like availabilty, commitments, desires... what are your thoughts?
