One Fine Day

#22 of the challenge. I had a little bit of a difficult time getting the photo to show the value contrasts in the flowers, but I think some of it is evident. I wanted to paint poppies today! This is 10 by 10 and has wide 1 1/2 inch gallery wrapped edges. I am happy to paint the sides whatever is requested: from a dark rich color, to the same colors extended around from the image. To be hung without a frame.Free shipping for challenge month!

  1. The value contrasts are exquisite, as are: the abstract floating quality of the poppy blossoms, the tremendous inviting depth of field, and the magical way the pistils and stamens pop out of the blossoms.

  2. From a selfish standpoint, I hate to see the challenge end for you. We are the beneficiaries of your imagination and skill. Another winner, Laurie!

  4. Yes, it's MISERABLE out! But as a good friend says on gray days, "the sun is shining, it's just behind a cloud right now". Thanks, Sheila!

  5. Bright, bold and beautiful, these are super Laurie. I think the values are reasonably evident and I really like the way the centres are peeking out of the flowers helping to identify the poppies in spite of their abstract quality.
