Texting My Grandpa

#17 of the challenge. I saw this man texting, and I imagined (hoped) that it was a good and happy exchange, like maybe with his Grand kids telling him they loved him. But what do I know? Maybe he was texting to check on his investments. Or to make a reservation. Or to learn results from a medical test. Thank God for our imaginations.....! PS I was terrified of this angle, but I am happy with it. I just tried to follow the values.

  1. Laurie, (1) you've perfectly captured a pose of the times! We all look like we have osteoporotic hunched shoulders these days, regardless of age! (2) This warms my heart b/c we got my dad (90) an iPhone for his birthday just over a year ago and he's been right in there with us texting ever since!

  2. His angle and the perspective really come through as he is inquisitively looking at his text for something important. Always amazes me to see oldsters using cells. Some do, some wouldn't have a clue...which is OK. I think he is texting with one of his grandkids! or his daughter.

  4. The angle caught my eye right away. I wouldn't have a clue how to paint that. LOL I love your story, and Dotty's addition to it. For all the problems cells can create, it is a sweet thought knowing they can help keep people connected, who might otherwise feel lonely. thanks for sharing this heart warming work with us Laurie :)

  5. Such a well done piece! I like the story you imagine to go with it - much kinder than my thoughts of 'how the blazes do I get this thing to work' - lol
