Yesterday

I painted from this photo a while ago, and decided to do it again. But this time, I went outside my comfort zone and used a palette knife. I haven't done that in a while, and it was fun. By the time I ended up, though, it was sort of half and half. It's oil, very textured, and 16x20 inches. It is available on http://www.dailypaintworks.com/buy/auction/663256

  1. Love the smooth sky mixed with the textures, the soft edges, and your light as always, is amazing!

  2. A lovely painting Laurie. I like the mottled foreground against the structured barn and then the smooth serene sky. Super!

And I love the new photo of you and your good looking boys!

  4. Weathered barnboard, dusty path, dusky shadow, depth, texture—you pull me right in, Laurie.

  5. Very eyecatching light! I love the feeling I get looking at this one. I feel the morning sun just peeking over a barn close by.
