This is one of the paintings I did at the Donna Zagotta workshop. I will be writing more about that in the near future. I have caught a nasty virus and have been coughing for more than 2 weeks, so I haven't felt much like painting, catching up with my notes from the workshop, or writing in my blog. I'm feeling better though, and that's the good news. This is mixed media with watercolor, gouache, and acrylic. The image itself is 4 1/2 by 5 inches. I mounted it (after varnish) on black board, and matted it in a black mat. Overall size is 9x12, and it will fit into any frame of that size (which is standard). Looks very cool! I've missed my on line art friends and will be checking into what everyone is up to!

Love the painting, especially with the black mat. Looking forward to hearing about the workshop although it is YOU who should be teaching a workshop!
And what a great new header painting for your beautiful blog. She's got great hair!

  3. So sorry to hear you've been sick; I've missed you! Glad to hear you are returning to health. Very eager to hear about the workshop. Love the signature colors and shadows in this painting, and love its level of abstraction. Does this painting have a title??? I always love your titles. I'm also interested in how you made an unusual size painting into a standard size—did you purchase a custom matte? cut it yourself???
