Thank you all for your nice comments. They really inspire me and I congratulate all of you who made it through, too! And more good news..9 of these have sold, but the rest are available! I will start back painting tomorrow.

Bits and Pieces
#30! This was, again, created from other pieces of past art work, although it's been almost all re-done. Parts of it are on fabric, which a cut into strips, painting around and in between. It's pretty textured because of the playing around! sold

Blissful Bunch
#28 of the challenge. I went through some pieces from a while ago (I don't throw a scrap away!), and found a section of a piece that I painted on fabric a while ago. I mounted the piece to a canvas, and painted around it, and in it. I try to leave most of the original piece untouched unless it is an area that's faded. I will put a gloss varnish on this to really bring out the colors. It is an 8x8 collage.

Let's Meet Up
#20.......I worked all day. It started out with an oil painting that got trashed. Then came an acrylic. No dice. Then out came the alcohol inks. Still a no go. Does that happen to you? So, I decided to go through my box of scraps and found some old negative space paintings. I started putting them together and painting, cutting, and gluing. I'm going to call it a day, and I'm still on track. I didn't think I would be a few hours ago. This is 9x12, collage, and available on dailypaintworks.

Who're You Wearing?
#6 Fun with abstraction. 8x10 Mixed
Ever notice when women get together there is what I call the "greeting period". "Cute Dress", "Did you get your hair cut?", "You look thin." , etc, etc. Men don't do that. It's fun being a woman!
I was honored to be asked to be the featured artist of the week for dailypaintworks, and this was the givaway!

Hide and Seek
#4 of the challenge. This is oil on canvas, 9x12, and available on dailypaintworks.
As this challenge gets underway, I realize (again) how lucky I am to be able to paint every day. Yesterday was my birthday (I'm told I was stubborn and waited until after the 1st of January to make my appearance), and I had a great day. I celebrated with my family and talked to good friends. It was like a day from heaven. In our family growing up, we coined what we referred to as "memory locks". These are those moments when you suddenly become aware of being very happy. It could be something in nature, sitting with family, shopping and lunch with a friend, etc. We would make a snapping gesture and say "memory lock". This is what my own kids grew up with too. Well yesterday was an all day long memory lock. We had a rough year last year because of some illness in our family, but this year is already looking up. Here's wishing everyone a healthy, happy new year. The support and inspiration I get from my friends, family, and the art community out there provides me with many "memory locks"! Thank you, and thank you for looking at my art!
