This is another one that started out as a mark: one of the two faces in front. Then the next one. Everything else became one mark after another. I love painting this way! It's good to have a plan, but sometimes freedom comes with just figuring out as you go. Anyways, these two have big plans I guess!

Laurie, I'm so glad you paint! What a gift! Love the color blocks, the abstractions, the colors, the implicit stories, and the finesse of that pop of red. I am fascinated by your one-mark-another-mark process.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful compliment, Dotty. Thank you!
DeleteLove the subdued light and reflections. Rainy day perfection. Love the red... terrific allusion.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sheila...I like "rainy day perfection"!
ReplyDeleteLooks like they live in Oregon. You would get some awesome reference material over here, Laurie!! Beautiful painting!!!
ReplyDeleteImagine the conversations underneath all those umbrellas. Love the rainy feel..it's what we're having this week here. Would be fun if you had a camera that shot occasional frames as you painted so we could see the progression of one mark after another. Love the red reflection on the back of the one coat...
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris! I can only imagine the reference pictures in Oregon. Maybe one day......
ReplyDeleteThank you, Corinna! I am going to do a progress shot thingy. I just keep forgetting!
