"Safe and Sound" and Getting Ready for the January challenge!!

This guy just came in for a safe landing! It is 12x9 and Acrylic.
I am planning on doing the January 30 in 30 challenge again. Whew, time is flying by. It is so rewarding and fun to do, and I ALWAYS learn something. I also meet so many other artists on line as we support each other. I hope there are lots of you out there that will join me!

  1. Great design on the wingspan - nice bird! I have not decided yet on the 30 in 30. Earlier I decided NO, but as it approaches I remind myself how much I learn and what fun it is to be in the throws of the event.

  2. Do it, Pattie! The nice thing is, you don't have to do 30........but however many you do, the point is that art is on your mind alot more often, and that keeps those brain cells multiplying (at least that's what I've heard)!

  3. Just want to stop by and tell you how much I love your art. I get your emails and enjoy seeing your work, but I don't comment much to let you know how beautifully you paint. Love your angels... and bouquets, and this new one "Safe and Sound" is exquisite. When you talked about preparing for the next challenge, I was stunned...but it is truly only a month a way. It seems like a big chore right now to prepare for it, but I really enjoy it as well. It really puts the burr under my saddle. :)

  5. Laurie, ooh, that deep shadow on the underside of the wings and on the belly! the legs at different angles! the pop of turquoise in the water! your brushstrokes! Loving it all.

January? I plan to do the 30 in 30, though at the moment, I can't even think my way through to tomorrow, let alone January. All in good time. As a client of mine said this morning in response to her feeling of overwhelm, "I will take one breath at a time. Because that is both realistic and possible."

    Yup.

  6. Laurie, I so love your work! Gorgeous! Love the light behind his head, and the reflections :) I will be there in January, and I hope to have a few pieces prepped ahead of time. But I agree with Dotty, I have to think about that later :) Happy Thanksgiving week to you!
