This bird is checking out his environment to make sure it's safe to dig in to his dinner. I got my oils out again. Thanks to my friends, I had purchased some Vasari paints to add to my supplies. Talk about a horse of a different color. It's like painting with very soft butter and the colors are so beautiful. Really fun!
The colors are very Beautiful! NICE work.
ReplyDeleteHave a sweet day!
Thank you, Sue! I love those colors, too!
DeleteLaurie, I think of you often and am so delighted to see your newest painting.
ReplyDeleteFull Plate is wonderfully full—of you, of color, of energy, and of the vibrancy of the life you've captured with your new buttery oil paints.
Ever since we had a parakeet many moons ago, I've been especially attuned to birds. You've brought this one alive, heart and soul!
Thank you, Dotty, we had a little parakeet, too. It would sit on my Mom's shoulder all day. One day, she forgot he was there and she walked outside. You can guess the rest. Neighbors watched a forlorn little towheaded girl searching the neighborhood for Peppy. Anyways, thanks again. Hope yours didn't fly away like ours did!
DeleteHe is gorgeous, and such a wonderful view! I love how the leaf shapes mimic his body, and the energy and movement are wonderful Laurie!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sheila! And thank you again for the bird reference shots. One of those guys will be coming up soon!
Deleteso cute and fabulous colors! The new paints sound wonderful Laurie and I am sure we will see more art with them.
ReplyDeleteHi Val, Thanks! Yes, I'll be using them alot in the near future!
