I am anxious for Spring! Although I love the seasons, and would never leave my home state of Michigan, by March we get "teased" every now and then, with aromas of Spring in the air. Then out of the blue, BAM...a snowstorm. And yet I wouldn't have it any other way. These flowers make me think of Spring. It's the first time I've been in my studio since the challenge. I needed a break. I also did a collage with Citra-solv papers and will post it tomorrow. It was pretty fun.
Laurie, pure and simple, I like everything about this. Everything.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dotty. I am glad!
DeleteSuch wonderful bright colours! Laurie, did you paint on a black canvas or paint the background in? Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Val! The background is a deep plum-ish color, but it was very hard to capture that with my camera. Actually this was the start of a painting I never connected with. So I negative painted (carved) around here and there with that dark color until I liked the shapes. Then I just enhanced them!
DeleteDivine! Love the deep indigo, and the frilly brights, and oh those Laurie greens! Spring! And I am smiling at the new Laurie loves photo, Awwww!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sheila! I love the word divine....I'll take it!
ReplyDeleteFeels like spring is never going to come to Montreal that is. Your painting is a breath of fresh air
ReplyDeleteThank you, Suzy!
