#22 of the challenge. I had a little bit of a difficult time getting the photo to show the value contrasts in the flowers, but I think some of it is evident. I wanted to paint poppies today! This is 10 by 10 and has wide 1 1/2 inch gallery wrapped edges. I am happy to paint the sides whatever is requested: from a dark rich color, to the same colors extended around from the image. To be hung without a frame.Free shipping for challenge month!

The value contrasts are exquisite, as are: the abstract floating quality of the poppy blossoms, the tremendous inviting depth of field, and the magical way the pistils and stamens pop out of the blossoms.
ReplyDeleteI never tire of your gift with words, Dotty. Thank you.
DeleteFrom a selfish standpoint, I hate to see the challenge end for you. We are the beneficiaries of your imagination and skill. Another winner, Laurie!
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you, Chris! And right back atcha. So glad you are doing it!

DeleteYes, it's MISERABLE out! But as a good friend says on gray days, "the sun is shining, it's just behind a cloud right now". Thanks, Sheila!
ReplyDeleteBright, bold and beautiful, these are super Laurie. I think the values are reasonably evident and I really like the way the centres are peeking out of the flowers helping to identify the poppies in spite of their abstract quality.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Val! I like those centers, too!
