# 3 Free and Clear

#3 of the challenge. I have always heard people talk about painting on linen panels and how nice they are. I guess I've stayed away because of the cost difference. But while I was painting this, I kept thinking, "why does this feel so good? My brush is just smoothly gliding and guiding itself". Then I looked at the back....I had bought a few of these at Hobby Lobby, and forgot about them. Nice. I'll be getting more! Thank you all so much for the great birthday and art comments. Just incredible. I had a wonderful birthday.

  1. Absolutely love this! Your title is apt—the painting has such a fresh, clear feel to it, free from clutter or tangles or unnecessary fluff. All the shadows, such inviting little pockets of peace. And I'm glad you made mention of the linen. I have one stretched linen panel sitting in my studio; have never used linen, and now I'm thinking, What am I waiting for?

  5. Thank you all so much! And yes, try the linen panels from Hobby Lobby. They were a good price, too, compared to some I have seen.

  6. I like the softness of the colorful edges. I have really started paying more attention to the differences in those surfaces, too. Amazing how you feel them through your brush strokes.

  7. As many of you know, I am a huge advocate of owner financing especially in our current credit situation in our country and getting owner financing is so much easier when the seller has equity to work with.
