#2 of the challenge.Today is my birthday! I was told repeatedly that my parents drove on bumpy roads to make it happen before the new year. I was stubborn I guess. So with New Year's and a birthday so close, I am doubly thankful and reflective as I start the new year. This came from a photo taken by my (amazing artist) friend, Linda Whitehead. I took wild liberties, because I couldn't begin to capture the essence of her photo. Thanks, Linda!
Laurie, such a gift to have your art as part of my life. So much movement in this painting, so many nooks and crannies to explore, such delightful surprises of orange/red—and all with an arm around my shoulder and the sun at my back. aaahhhhhh …
ReplyDeleteFun Blog Laurie. Are you primarily an acrylic painter? Do you have a website? www.GillianStGeorge.com
ReplyDeleteLovely!!! This reminds me of scenes in Lake Como where there are staircases everywhere and treats at every level. You captured that nicely!

Happy Birthday Laurie. A wonderful painting and such crisp lines - fascinating!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday - that is a fun story! I was born 5 days before Christmas, although over the many years, I have learned it would be just the same, either 5 days before or the day of...you usually only get ONE present. Same for you? ha! I love the steps and architecture of this one - amazing you did it as ONE day of 30 in 30!
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful comments, thank you all so much. I'm very humbled, and grateful today.
ReplyDeleteHi Laurie, This painting is great! I'm glad that you took liberties with the photo, because you made it better than reality! Way to have fun with it
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day,
Kyle
