#8 of the challenge. I was inspired when I went to the Detroit Zoo recently. It was freezing cold that day, but was very fun to watch the penguins! These two looked like they could have been in a little spat.
This is 8x6 inches and has 1 1/2 inch wide gallery wrapped sides. The sides are painted with the image colors to extended around. It needs no frame, and also looks really "cool" sitting on a shelf!

The shadows, the little bit of arctic radiance haloing their heads and burnishing their chests : )
ReplyDeleteThe part you don't see in this painting is me walking in the diametrically opposed direction, away from cold toward WARMTH.
And you would be smart to do that Dotty.....but thanks!
DeleteI love how the orange pops on the deep blue. Super painting Laurie!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Val!
DeleteI love Dotty's description of "arctic radiance." That really adds to the energy these two fantastic creatures have together. You have such a knack with color!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laurelle! And so do you!
DeleteI LOVE these guys! Serious big brother, and goofy little brother maybe. Goofy brother always getting into trouble. LOL. Oh, These two have stories to tell! Love the lavender blues :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Like the little twins....the girl is always going after the boy! Trying to eat his head! They're only 3 weeks old!
DeleteThanks, Sheila!
Love that blue - and the figures are so cute together, they do look like they are having trouble between them. Sweet!
ReplyDeleteHa! Thanks, Pattie!
